All questions regarding subsidiary and film/tv rights for any of my books, and inquiries regarding foreign translation should be direct to Jane Dystel of Dystel & Goderich Literary Management.

Book Bloggers & Reviewers:

If you are a blogger and/or a reviewer and are interested in receiving a review copy, by all means contact me at contactjenncooksey (at) gmail (dot) com. Please be advised that while I am always honored when someone expresses an interest in me and my work, I can't guarantee that I'll always be able to fulfill requests for books.

If you are here and are interested in interviewing me or any of my characters, or would like to feature me and/or my work on your blog, thank you! I would be more than happy to see if we can work something out. You can reach me via email at the above email address. Requests should include your name, the name of your blog, the primary genre read and reviewed on your blog, what your interest in me or my work is, and what you have specifically in mind.

*ARC Requests:
Please note that I have not ever been involved in the ARC distribution process, and that at this time, ARC requests are not being accepted. ARCs are distributed to a set number of bloggers/readers prior to release date, and if/when open sign-ups are scheduled, an announcement will be made instructing bloggers/reviewers how they can submit themselves for consideration. Until such a time, any unsolicited or improper ARC requests will not receive a response. Thank you for your understanding.

Authors:

As much as I adore reading and love getting suggestions from readers and writers alike, if you are an author, please, for the love of all that is holy, don't ask me to review your work.

1. I hate reviewing. I love reading and I love writing even more than I do reading, but that doesn't mean I should enjoy publicly critiquing another author's work, and I don't. I despise it. We're not talking mild dislike here either. I mean loathe with a deep and abiding hate.

B) I'll say no and while typing my, albeit polite, response, it's a safe bet that I'll be growling at you and gnashing my teeth as I do. Plus, asking me to review your work will show me you didn't have the smarts to read my policies and if you did read them, you didn't respect them. Not gonna lie, that sort of business practice isn't gonna win you many fans in this industry—just a word of advice.

Lastly, no one with any sense would ever want me to formally review shit. I might be a great story teller and have a way with words as an author, but trust me when I say I'm a sucky reviewer. I nit-pick everything and have a hard time focusing on the positives when there are more than one or two negatives. For whatever reason, I get hung-up on little things and then obsess about them, and that negativity inevitably seeps into anything I might say about the book, regardless of whether I enjoyed it or not overall.

If you're looking for reviews, I would be more than happy to point you in the direction of some folks who excel at writing reviews that are fair, impartial and constructive, but I am not one of them—I promise you.

That being said, I'm open to discussing being a beta-reader if my schedule permits and falls in line with your calendar. As I am so vehemently opposed to writing reviews and even more so to spoilers of all kinds, if I were to accept the responsibility of beta-reading, you can be sure that I will never at any time discuss the details of your pre-published MS with anyone. Similar to an editor, a beta-reader is meant to help an author prepare their story for ARC distribution and it is my belief that a book in beta-mode should never be reviewed or discussed with anyone aside from constructive criticism being given to the author privately. Additionally, I'm cool with writing press release-type blurbs for a book that will soon be releasing for you to include in your advertising or on the book's cover. The only stipulation is that I first must read the book, feel it was well written, and I need to have enjoyed it. If you have questions about any of this, please email me at contactjenncooksey (at) gmail (dot) com.

Everyone:

While I try my hardest to reply in a timely manner to correspondence that warrants a response from me personally, I don't always receive or see my messages right away. So, if you've tried contacting me in regard to something discussed on this page (aside from ARCs) and don't hear back from me within a week or two, you might consider trying again and letting me know that it's your second attempt.
